Lesson 1
"Things
to do and get..."
"Nothing
Is Going To Happen If You Don't Take Action!!!"
Step 1: Things to
do
In today's lesson I'm going
to ask you to build the initial foundation for your online business.
You will need to setup a few folders on your pc and to create some
documents in those folders. This might seem "boring" to
you, but I want you to be organized.
I have over 4gb of ebooks
and software sitting in one folder on my pc. I went through this excersise
myself to bring some order to my hdd and found that I could free up
almost the ENTIRE 4gb if I just delete the stuff I don't use! I'm
sure I'm like most of you because I just cannot make myself delete
anything, just in case I'm going to use it.
I have copied only the
important books and tools to my current IM (internet marketing) folder
and will probably delete all the other stuf eventually.
Anyway, Let's get started:
Create a folder on your
pc and call it "My Online Business".
I have created
this folder under "My Documents" and just dragged a shortcut
to my desktop. This way I can still just backup the "My Documents"
folder and all my online business docs and tools will be included
in the backup. (You do make backup's of your pc don't you?) and my
online business folder is still easily accessable from my desktop.
No create the following
folders in you business folder:
Create these files in your main online
business folder:
- Online-Account-Details.doc
- Online-Resources.doc
- Scratch-File.doc
- Keyword-Research.xls
Or you can simply download
my sample word documents doc's to your folder. You will keep track
of all your online account details and links to resources in these
documents. It will make your online life much more easier when you
have this info in one place! Try to stay organized at all times!
Now it's time for the
real boring stuff, so let' get this out of the way ASAP.
I want you to go to the
following websites and create an account at each one of them.
"Nothing
Is Going To Happen If You Don't Take Action!!!"
You are going to use these
accounts later in this course but it is best to get them now, to prevent
you from being distracted later in this course. I will explain later
on what to do with these accounts, but for now, just go and create
them. There's no need to create a new account if you have an existing
account with some (or all) of these sites. Just create accounts for
sites where you don't have one.
Remember to update your
Online Accounts Details document with all your new and existing usernames
and passwords.
These links will open
in a new window, so please disable any pop-up stoppers you might have.
Accounts
to Create:
| Yahoo |
Create two email
accounts for your online business.
- It's a good idea to have one main admin account where all
your business correspondence goes to
- You will use the 2nd account for all the "free"
offers you will encounter on the net |
| Google |
Create a "My Google" /
"iGoogle" account. |

Additional Notes:
| AutoResponder
Note: |
- Many spammers
use these free accounts and therefore a lot of these free
autoresponders are blacklisted and you will get a much lower
delivery rate.
- When you had
enough of the low delivery rate and you want to upgrade
to the paid version, you’ll have to get your subscribers
to double opt-in again and not all of them will. You WILL
loose a lot of your subscribers this way. In my opinion,
it is best to start of with a paid version of the autoresponder
service
|
You may also
choose to download the free autoresponder program in the download
list further down this page which, you can install on your
web hosting account, but I do not recommend this at all! It
might save you some money now, but it's going to be costly
down the line!
Most cheap
hosting accounts have a sent mail limit of starting from
about 50 emails per hour, which means they will not allow
you to sent more that 50 email per hour.
What is going to happen, when the number
of your subscribers reaches 1000 or 5000 or ever 10 000 members?
To try and schedule your mail delivery to 50 per hour is a
nightmare and definitely not worth all the trouble.
Also, if you want to change later on to a
paid autoresponder service, you will have to get your list
to double opt-in again. Not every one will do it and you are
going to loose lots of you subscibers. I am including the
link to the autoresponder should you whish to use it, but
it is better to go for the paid version of GetResponse. |
| UsFreeAds
Note: |
- You can have
an unlimeted number of ads running at the same time
- You can use
HTML code in your ads
- It is VERY
affordable and the advantages you get with the paid version
is outstanding
|
I know this is a fairly long list of accounts
to create, but...
"Nothing
Is Going To Happen If You Don't Take Action!!!"
Please don't go to the
next section of this lesson before you have created your accounts!
These accounts is very important for the rest of the lessons. Get
these dull and boring tasks out of the way ASAP.

This browser will let you have many open
websites in the same browser window. It will also let you
create "Groups". When selecting a group, all the
sites associated with that group will open in one browser.
It is also MUCH safer and more secure than any other
browser. |
