Lesson 3
"AutoResponder
Messages"
"Nothing
Is Going To Happen If You Don't Take Action!!!"
Just to recap:
You have created your online accounts, downloaded
your free tools and templates, chosen your niche category, did your
keyword research, selected the product you you are going to promote,
registered your domain, changed your dns addresses, created your
squeeze pages, created your thank-you pages, created your confirmation
page, and created your e-course pages. Now you have to stay focussed
and keep on taking action and create your autoresponder
messages.
Step
6.4 - Autoresponder Messages
I just open my text editor and write these messages
in a plain text file. (one text file for all messages) I'll explain
later on this page why text only) I create these messages when I'm
offline. This way I can upload all of them to m,y autoresponder
account at the same time.
The first message to create is the confirmation
message. This is a very important message. This is the 1st message
your visitor will receive from you! Your main goal here is to get
them to click on the confirmation link. Here's how I construct my
confirmation messages:
I use their name in the subject line. Most autoresponders
have a variable to use. It look something like this: %FirstName%
Your autoresponder will get the visitor's name from the form on
your squeeze page.
My subject normally looks like this:
%FirstName%, Your niche training course registration
is almost complete.
I change the word "niche" to my chosen
niche category ie.
If my niche market is "Model Trains"
then my subkect will look like this:
%FirstName%, Your Model Trains training course registration is almost
complete.
I don't use the word "free" in the subject
or message content due to spam filters. A lot of spam filters will
see your message as spam when you use certain words in your autoresponder
emails. "free" is one such word. Do a search on Google
for more of these words. Search for this: "spam trigger words"
and try not to use those.
Next I tell them who I am (I use a differnet fake
name for each of my niche courses) If your visitor do a search for
your name and see that you are an expert on so many different subjects,
they might loose respect. Surely you can't be and expert on golf,
gardening, model trains, lung cancer, voip, insurance, real estate,
car sales, or what ever other niche market you are involved in.
I'm sure it will be fine to use your real name
if you are just promoting one or two different niche markets. That's
just my personal opinion. You can use your real name if you want
to. I don't.
Anyway, I tell them who I am (fake name) and remind
them that he/she, or someone else registered his/her email address
in order to to receive the niche course. (again change the word
"niche" to your actual niche, and that I just want to
make sure this was a legit registration. If they want to receive
this course they need to click on the confirmation link and if they
don't want the course, simply delete the message without clicking
on any links.
I also put in a short list of the main benefits
of the course and "remind" them that they will miss out
by not clicking on the confirmation email. Then just end the message
by saying you look forward to present your first lesson.
Don't try and sell them anything in the message!
Just get them to click on the confirmation link. That's the only
action you want them to take.
Now for the rest of your messages...
My subject line looks like this:
%FirstName, Lesson 1 of your [Niche] course is
here
(replace "Niche" with your niche category)
I use the same format for the subject lines for
all my autoresponder mesages, that way it is easier for your visitor
to locate your messages. They can just sort their inbox according
to subject line and all your messages will be displayed together.
This is not necessary, but I try and make things as easy as possible
for my subscribers.
I give them a brief overview of what they will
get with the current lesson and a link to website page containing
the course. Make a point to include the benefits of the day's course,
like any free downloads, special tips etc. You want them to take
action and read the lesson on your web-site. I never sent my actual
ecourse lessons in the autoresponder message. I always include a
link to my web page containing the course.
I then just end the message with a nice greeting
and telling them that they must go to the course page asap.
*** A Quick Tip ***
I never advertise any product in my ar messages. (There will be
ads in your message if you have a free autoresponder account, which
is another reason to get a paid ar account asap. ) I did some testing
and found that the click-through rate to my course pages increased
by about 20% when I did not have any ads in my autoresponder messages.
I leave the ads for my actual html pages.
*** end of tip ***
I also sent these autoresponder
messages as plain text files. There are stil some users with text
only mail clients which will not be able to see your message if
you sent it in HTML format. I want to get as many people as possible
to read my course material, including those with text only email
clients.
